New World screwworm · Texas update
What Wichita Falls owners should know right now
Texas still has confirmed New World screwworm activity in parts of the state, and TAHC movement restrictions remain in several southern and west Texas counties. Wichita County is not listed on TAHC’s current infested-zone county notice we reviewed — that means local cases and local restrictions were unverified from that official list, not that risk is zero. Pets can still be affected if they travel, board near affected areas, or have open wounds that attract flies.
Check your dog or cat daily for wounds, foul odor, unusual licking, or anything that looks like maggots in living tissue. Keep wounds clean and covered when practical. If you suspect screwworm, isolate the pet and contact your veterinarian; do not attempt home removal. Livestock or wildlife suspicions go through TAHC (1-800-550-8242) or TPWD as directed by those agencies.

FDA posted a company announcement for Fi Calming and Fi 8-in-1 Formula dog supplements (specific lots) for possible Salmonella contamination. If you have those products, stop using them and follow the FDA notice for disposal.
